Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy sets out the uses CMA and its Group Companies (defined below) will make of personal information provided to CMA by Users of the Site.

Defined terms in this Privacy Policy have the meanings set out in the Terms of Use, and this Privacy Policy forms part of those Terms of Use.

Personal Data” means any information from which an individual may be identified, including name, address, phone number, email address, IP address, job title, passwords and User Access Information, and any other personal information User supplies via the Site or otherwise.

Group Companies” means Credit Market Analysis Ltd, Quotevision Limited, Financial Data Exchange Ltd and any other company which is ultimately owned by CME Group Inc. from time to time (please contact CMA to obtain a current list of such companies).

This Privacy Policy may vary from time to time so please check it regularly.

The Personal Data CMA Collects

CMA may collect Personal Data in various situations, including:

  1. where User contacts CMA with an enquiry about CMA’s (or Group Companies’) products or services;
  2. where User provides Personal Data in order to access or use the Site, Content or any Services;
  3. where User contacts CMA with an enquiry about supplying CMA (or Group Companies) with products or services; or
  4. where User contacts CMA with an enquiry about employment opportunities with CMA or Group Companies.

The Personal Data CMA collects may include: name, address, phone number, email address, employer, job title, IP address, passwords and User Access Information and any other personal information User supplies via the Site or otherwise. CMA may also collect information regarding a User’s use of the Site, Content or Services (e.g. period of use, preferences, activity).

Uses CMA Makes of Personal Data

If User provides Personal Data in an enquiry about CMA’s (or Group Companies’) products or services, CMA will use the Personal Data to respond to the enquiry. If User provides Personal Data in order to access or use the Site, Content or any Services, CMA will use the Personal Data to supply access to the Site, Content or Services.

If User provides Personal Data in an enquiry about supplying CMA (or Group Companies) with products or services, CMA will use the Personal Data to respond to the enquiry.

If User provides Personal Data in an enquiry about employment opportunities with CMA (or Group Companies), CMA will use the Personal Data to respond to the enquiry, and during the process to evaluate the User as a prospective employee (including during interviews, reviews and background checking). CMA will not retain Personal Data of candidates who do not become employees for more than 6 months after a decision not to employ a candidate has been communicated to the candidate.

CMA may also make the following uses of any Personal Data it receives via the Site or otherwise:

  1. use the Personal Data for marketing purposes in relation to other or future products and services of CMA and Group Companies;
  2. share the Personal Data with Group Companies (which may include transferring the Personal Data to the USA or elsewhere outside of the European Economic Area);
  3. use the Personal Data as reasonably necessary for fraud prevention purposes;
  4. use or disclose any Personal Data about any User if required to do so by law or if it determines that such use or disclosure is reasonably necessary (1) to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request (2) in connection with any investigation or complaint regarding the use of the Site, or to identify, contact or bring legal action against any party which may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) CMA or Group Companies’ rights or property, (3) to respond to claims that any such data violates the rights of others, or (4) to protect the rights, property or personal safety of CMA or Group Company employees, users of or visitors to the Site, and the public.

CMA may make the above uses itself or through its sub-contractors or service providers.

IF USER DOES NOT AGREE TO CMA USING ITS PERSONAL DATA AS SET OUT IN PARAS (1) AND (2) BELOW IT MUST NOTIFY CMA.

UNLESS USER NOTIFIES CMA AS ABOVE, BY PROVIDING PERSONAL DATA TO CMA VIA THE SITE OR OTHERWISE USER AGREES TO THE ABOVE USES OF THAT PERSONAL DATA.

If CMA transfers Personal Data outside the European Economic Area it will endeavour to ensure there are appropriate terms in place protecting the rights of the data subjects concerned.

CMA will not, in any instance, provide Personal Data to third parties outside of Group Companies.

Cookies

“Cookies” are elements of data that a web site can send to a user’s browser and which may then be stored on the user’s computer. CMA uses Cookies to:

  1. help track usage patterns in order to improve and manage the Site
  2. record preferences in order to personalise any visit
